Hello Clients!

This is Candice, Dr. Becky’s assistant. Dr. Becky and I would like you to please be aware that Dr. Becky will be unavailable for sessions or phone calls from June 3 – June 7. I, Candice, will be in possession of our trusty, confidential office phone during that time, and I will be glad to help you schedule future sessions, or answer questions about services. Dr. Becky will return to the office on June 8. She already has several sessions scheduled for that week, so if you are considering scheduling, please keep this in mind. Unfortunately, no morning appointments are available at this time for the week of June 8th.

If you have an emergency, please seek assistance with an emergency care provider at your nearest hospital, psychiatric facility, community mental health agency, by dialing 911. If you have any questions or concerns you would like to discuss with Dr. Becky at a later time, you may also send them via email; I will also compile messages to her to be addressed upon her return.

Thanks so much for your understanding and patience. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Hello Everyone,

For many years I have worked long hours … not only during the week, but on weekends. I have worked a long week, stayed late into the evening to see people who could not come any other time, and on weekends for the same reason. Most of that time I was a single woman whose kids were raised and what better way could I spend my time than by working at my passion – helping people through talk therapy.

Today things have changed. In 2011 my son was killed in the war, and soon after I moved from San Antonio to Little Rock to be near my hometown and family. I married in 2013 after being single for 11 years. As I take stock of my life, I find that my purpose is still the same, to help couples through relationship crisis, and help anyone and everyone be mentally and emotionally healthy. But now I have a cherished home life. And as I tell my couples on a daily basis, if you want a great relationship, you have to make it a priority.

I have learned to listen to myself. When I noted that I did not enjoy working when I knew my husband would be home and we could have spent spent cherished quality time together, I knew it was time to change my practice. This is why starting June 1, 2015 I will no longer work evenings or weekends. During the week my last appointment will be scheduled at 4 pm. The lesson I have learned is that not only do I need to listen to myself and what is not feeling right within, I need to take action to make it feel right.

I wish you all the best and I look forward to seeing you in the therapy room — or on FaceTime or Skype!

Sincerely,

Doctor Becky
